Welcome to Mississippi
Mississippi is a state located in the Southern United States. Jackson is the state capital and also the largest city. The Mississippi River flows along the western boundary of the state, so that's how the it got its name. The state tree and flower is the Magnolia. Mississippi is bordered on the north by Tennessee, on the east by Alabama, on the south by Louisiana and a narrow coast on the Gulf of Mexico and on the west, across the Mississippi River, by Louisiana and Arkansas. It is heavily forested outside of the Mississippi Delta area. Mississippi has long summers and short, mild winters.
